Virgin Motor Yachts – Now Blogging From Paradise!

Welcome to the Virgin Motor Yachts blog! We are excited to being providing you articles, information, photos, stories and insights around our 2 passions; Yachts and the beautiful British Virgin Islands!  ⚓️🏝

Virgin Motor Yachts is a family owned business that was founded in 1996. We are the only, exclusively motor yacht charter company in the BVI and we are ‘fueled by our dedication to customer service!’ Having been in business for more than 20 years, tens of thousands of customers have passed through our doors and enjoyed the ‘trip of a lifetime’ on a yacht charter in the British Virgin Islands. We are most proud of our 70% repeat customer rate, and love that many of our guests come back to the BVI year after year. We are based at Nanny Cay Marina on Tortola, and we offer a fleet of motor yachts for bareboat charters, luxury crewed charters and day charters.

Five years ago my husband and I were living the ‘typical’ American dream; dual careers, big house, multiple cars and constantly buying stuff, stuff, stuff to keep up with the latest trends, fads and of course, our friends. Suddenly, over a normal evening of dinner and an episode of ‘Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations’, I looked at my husband and announced we needed to sell everything, escape the rat race and move to an island! I was tired of working hard all year for a giant corporation to enjoy a measly two weeks of vacation – I wanted to create a life we didn’t need to vacation from! We turned our dreams into a reality but purchasing Virgin Motor Yachts from the founding owners, who were retiring. We now live full-time in Tortola, run Virgin Motor Yachts and are constantly grateful that we have an opportunity to live and work in this beautiful paradise and share our story with our thousands of charter guests! (Albeit ‘paradise’ is not without its quirks and challenges – but more posts on that in the future 😉)

After two decades of being in business, Virgin Motor Yachts has been asked every question in the book related to yachts, chartering, the British Virgin Islands etc. After providing these answers many, many times, we thought it might be helpful for our guests and potential future guests if we began to blog about some of the most frequent topics. In addition to lots of useful (hopefully!) information on yachts, yacht charters and the beautiful BVI, we also have lots of fun stories, travel ideas and interesting island tales that we would love to share.

More than anything, we want your feedback on our posts! 🙌🙌🙌  Being a small business, we love the ability to still offer the ‘personal touch’ to each and every client we meet. Many of you started out as guests, but over the years have become our friends and we love seeing you each year in the BVI to catch up on your lives!

We genuinely love meeting each and every person that walks through our doors and learning their story; why did you decide to come to the BVI? What it is about boating that you love? What led you to our doorstep? What do you want most out of your vacation? With guests that are just starting to plan their first trip to the islands to those that have been coming for 20+ years, we have a wide variety of readers and interest – so please tell us what we can offer that is most helpful to you! Feel free to leave comments and email us suggestions on what you would enjoy reading – we want to be just as customer focused on our blog as we try to be in our business. If you like what you read, please share with family and friends and/or on any of your social media channels – the more the merrier!

We are hoping to share and connect with you 3-4 times a week on our blog site. If the content seems to resonate, we will share it across Facebook and our other sites. Please let us know what we are doing well and what you would like to read more of. Or if you hate something or disagree – let us know that too!

Thanks for taking the time to read our first post, and we look forward to you joining us on this new and exciting journey!

Cheers!
