Ben Pollon, Captain (rotation)
Ben was born in East Africa to Canadian parents who had a passion for travel. At the age of 6 his family moved to the Turks and Caicos Islands which was at the time a remote location and where Ben developed his love for the ocean. His upbringing made the marine industry a natural fit for Ben and one in which he has spent almost all of his working life. After owning a Ft. Lauderdale based marine repair company and doing boat deliveries Ben moved on to become a successful superyacht Captain. Since joining the industry he has gained extensive experience in the most popular charter destinations, and has also run yachts further afield in the South Pacific and Indian Oceans. Ben is excited to now be on board Sweet Escape and cruising the waters closer to home where he first honed his skills. With his diversified background, passion for watersports and safety first attitude, he will be sure to make your trip a memorable one.

Kdn Lyne, Chef
Kdn grew up on an organic farm near the Glasshouse Mountains in Queensland, Australia and developed a passion for growing and cooking food from an early age. After starting his apprenticeship at age 14, and then at age 16 he moved to Sydney and began his career in fine dining under internationally acclaimed chef Dietmar Sawyere, learning techniques used in French gastronomy, Japanese presentation and fusion cuisine. Over the past 15 years as a chef he has broadened his repertoire working in some of Australia’s best restaurants, and in 2005 he decided to take his skills and start a career on yachts. Over the years Kdn has had extensive experience catering for a range of dietary needs as well as creating delicious healthy spa menus. In 2009 Kdn won the annual Concours de Chef competition in Antigua highlighting his cooking talent and ability to create Award winning menus. In his free time he enjoys surfing, diving, snowboarding, cooking and dining out.
Ian Ross, First Mate
Born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia a place affectionately known as the Maritimes, where the ocean is a way of life. Ian has flourished in various careers beginning with a snowboarding sponsorship at the tender age of 17, then moving onto racing super sport motorcycles while carrying out a successful path in the service industry managing busy bars and restaurants. After completing a Bachelor of commerce degree Ian’s passion for the Ocean and travel got the best of him and soon found himself in the south of France, where he spent 5 years climbing the ranks of yachting. With no signs of his love for the water fading, you can expect to see Ian’s smiling face for the foreseeable future. When time permits Ian enjoys snorkeling, surfing, snowboarding and of course travel.
Chief Stewardess TBA

Daisy Loosmore, 2nd Stewardess
Daisy was born and raised in Australia, growing up in a small coastal town where life generally revolved around the Ocean. After finishing school she spent 2 years working as a Nanny and Bar Tender whilst traveling throughout Europe. This sparked a great interest in travel, and the desire to see as much of the world as possible! With a passion for the ocean and traveling it seemed the obvious choice to work in the yachting industry. Daisy is somewhat of a perfectionist and loves to make sure that every aspect of your holiday is special. In down time Daisy enjoys surfing, stand up paddling, swimming and high adrenalin sports.
Jordan Gibson, First Officer
Jordan was born on the East Coast of New Zealand. From a very young age he would spend every weekend fishing, sailing and surfing. After finishing school, he became a snowboard instructor in NZ and then following the winter season to Utah, Park City. Feeling the warmer weather, and the love for the ocean, the yachts began to call his name; he made the move from solid water to liquid. With traveling being a major part of his lifestyle, he jumped at the opportunity to work onboard and has continued to develop his skills for the yachting life.
Nichola Shaw, Stewardess
Nic grew up in the Hertfordshire, South East of England and then moved to Manchester to complete a degree in Zoology. With an interest in Marine Conservation, she chose to work on the ocean as a dolphin research assistant in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. After graduating she pursued another love – chocolate! – returning to work for the British Chocolate Company, Hotel Chocolat. After 9 months of selling (and eating!) a lot of chocolate, the opportunity came up once again to live and work on the ocean. Never one to pass up on the chance to travel and work in new places, Nic left the chocolate world and joined the yachting industry.
Alastair Andrews, Engineer
Al grew up sailing dinghy’s and spending time on the family yacht in ‘The City of Sails’ Auckland New Zealand. Since his early teenage years he has had a passion for engineering pulling apart and fixing all things mechanical. After a number of years in the corporate life the water was calling and Al spent time teaching watersports working on volunteer medical ships and finally found his place in luxury yachting incorporating his love of the ocean, travel and engineering. Friendly and always looking to lend a helpful hand Al is never too far away… and easy to spot at 6’5”!
