From the sunny BVIs!
Merry Christmas from the sunny BVI!
This is a very special entry for me, as for the first time ever, I have spent the Christmas season with a family! In the past, the holiday season didn’t have much significance to me – it was just another day to scrounge for food on the beach and try to find a soft place to lay my head at night.
But now that I know what life is like as a ‘canine companion’ I got to experience the highs (and lows!) of a bipod Christmas. I am quite fond of all the ‘Christmas parties’ my mom took me to. They are a collection of tons of bipods who all seem quite happy to fawn over me and give me lots of rubs and pats. I also have discovered that I am quite fond of the English treat ‘mince pies’ as well as ‘peanut butter balls’ – they put my kibble to shame! I will be putting in a request to my mom to ensure these are more routinely added to my diet.
However, I was not such a fan of repeatedly being used as a Christmas ‘prop’, much to the amusement of the bipods. I was forced to pose for numerous photo sessions, and I endured the indignity of being wrapped in Christmas lights of all things! I tried to be polite and play along, because as they say ‘no attention is bad attention,’ but I will need to figure out a better strategy next year to avoid similar humiliation!
I am going to be spending my Christmas day out on the water and relaxing with family and friends. Wherever you are today, I hope you are also able to spend it with the ones you love. Have a very Merry Christmas and best wishes for the new year!
